Potty Training Readiness Checklist

Is your child ready to be potty trained?

1. Is your child 1 years old or older?

2. Is your child able to communicate when they need to go potty?

3. Does your child show interest in the potty or in others when they need to go potty?

4. Can your child hold their pee for 2 hours or the length of a nap?

5. Can your child pull off and put on their own clothes?

6. Can your child understand and follow simple directions?

7. Can your child sit still for 2 to 5 minutes at a time?

8. Does your child understand simple bathroom phrases like “going to the potty” or “pee pee” and “poop”?
